New label layouts for febi engine oils

In order to remain competitive in the engine oil product area, new layouts have been created for febi engine oil labels. However, the revised design not only gives the oils a fresh look with increased visibility: the vehicle manufacturer’s approvals are also printed on selected oils – an essential quality feature for workshops and end users.

“Regardless of the fact that all engine oils offered under the bilstein group brands fulfil the manufacturer’s specifications, the approvals are of central importance. In the commercial vehicle sector, this is even more relevant than for normal passenger cars. This is because commercial vehicles are often leased and, in order to fulfil the warranty conditions, oils without approval from the respective manufacturer are usually not used for inspections or repairs,” explains Jannis Schüler, Category Program Manager Chemicals in Group Category Procurement of the bilstein group.

Simplification through product categories

Names have been defined for the respective products so that approvals do not have to be requested and authorised individually for each article number. In addition, the oils have been grouped into three different performance categories: For passenger cars, these are ‘Mobility Guard’, ‘Mobility Guard Pro’ and ‘Mobility Guard Ultra’. For commercial vehicles, the names ‘Cargo Hero’, ‘Cargo Hero Pro’ and ‘Cargo Hero Ultra’ were chosen. The main difference lies in the application profiles of the respective oils:

  • The regular variants without the name affix include basic products with only individual specifications.
  • The ‘Pro’ variants each cover a wide range of OEM specifications.
  • The ‘Ultra’ engine oils carry official OEM approvals. Their reduced sulphated ash content and lowered viscosity (SAE 0W-XX) make them the perfect choice for state-of-the-art vehicles with exhaust aftertreatment systems.

In addition to the official approvals from Daimler-Truck, Mack, MAN, Renault, Scania and Volvo, approvals from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, PSA and the VW Group were also obtained in the passenger car sector, which can also be found on the new labels.
